Hungary: GySEV implements EUR 20 million central traffic control system

Austrian-Hungarian joint venture, GySEV Zrt is investing HUF 6.9 bn (EUR 20 million) in expanding the central traffic control system (KÖFI) to Rajka-Szombathely and Szombathely-Zalaszentiván railway sections and in establishing a new control center at Csorna, Szombathely.

Upon competition of the investment, the number of remote controlled stations will reach 35 and all GySEV lines will be controlled centrally.

As part of the project, a central traffic control unit will also be established in Sopron and 30 visual passenger information displays will be installed in railway stations, further improving the quality of rail passenger transport service provided by the company.
